This article outlines the standard procedure for verifying and logging telephone numbers across multiple sites, including PBX and restricted numbers. It ensures accurate site identification and logging for employee access and auditing purposes.

Logging Check Sequence

1. Multi-site Number Check

  • Definition: A telephone number assigned to more than one site.

  • Action: Check if the number is registered to a PBX site.

2. PBX Site Verification

  • If YES:

    • Prompt: “Please enter a site code.”

    • Code is verified against PBX slave sites.

    • If verified: ✅ Logged in. Site telephone number is verified.

    • Logging in/out will be verified against one of the slave sites only.

  • If NO: Proceed to restricted number check.

3. Restricted Number Check

  • If YES:

    • Prompt: “Please enter a site code.”

    • Code is verified against all site codes.

    • If verified: ✅ Logged in. Site telephone number cannot be verified.

    • Logging in/out will be based on the site represented by the entered code.

    • The code can also be verified against the site ID (if numeric).

  • If NO: Proceed to multi-site registration check.

4. Multiple Site Registration

  • Is the number registered to more than one site?

    • If YES:

      • Prompt: “For location *** enter 1, or for location *** enter 2,” etc.

      • If verified: ✅ Logged in. Site telephone number is verified.

      • Logging in/out will be verified against the relevant multi-site based on the number entered.

    • If NO: No further action.
