Why are employees showing as an unknown number?

Overview

Employees are logging in via phone, but their timesheet entries are showing as Unknown-[number] instead of the expected site name.


Solution

When employees dial your 0800 / 0808 / 0330 number to log in, Ezitracker captures the phone number they are calling from. This number is matched against the registered site phone numbers in your Ezitracker account.

If the number is not recognised, the entry will appear as Unknown-[number/code]. This can happen for several reasons:

Common causes:

  • The number does not belong to a registered site.

  • The site has changed its number without your knowledge.

  • An incorrect number was saved in Ezitracker.

  • The site has multiple numbers, and the one used isnโ€™t registered.

  • The site uses a restricted or withheld number.


Additional Notes

If the site uses a withheld number, employees will be prompted to enter a site code after pressing 1 to log in.
The entry will then appear as Unknown-[site code].
For example, if the employee enters 123, the timesheet will show Unknown-123.


What to do next

  1. Call the number used to log in to confirm which site it belongs to.

  2. Once verified, assign the number to the correct site in Ezitracker.
